Description

I don't know if we can call it a bug or a new feature.
Here's my problem: i use ACE 1.13 stable and Mando Missile (last ver.). When I use the Javelin, the Mando interface is superimposed with the ACE one.
Maybe an option 'disable ACE Javelin interface' would be addable in the ACE Clippi tool ?

Hmmm I tried to disable my script when Mando Javelin is present; I guess it's not enough

The question is if those fixes were part of a hotfix, that he might not have.

Is the ACE Javelin better than Mando Missile Javelin? I am all for disabling the Mando one and force the ACE Javelin.

Though I do not use the Mando stuff, but what if the mission features MMA and because of that the better ACE Javelin is disabled - how can I block the Mando Javelin?

If people install ACE they install it so they can use ACE.
If people install Mando on top of it they install it so they can use Mando.

Sadly it is not that easy.
If it would be that easy, we wouldn?t have 10 addons running at the game start.

Certain functionalities are desired other are not.

Yea, cool story :P

But how do I disable that Mando Javelin? I don't want to use the Mando stuff at all (when playing infantry), but I have to in a mission because the missions needs that other Mando Missile guidance stuff for the pilots we play with.
So I am now forced to use the Mando Javelin, which I highly dislike - how do I disable that damn thing, when it is now superimposed over ACE Javelin? IMO it would be better to disable the Mando Javelin by default and have the Missionmaker decide wether people can use the Mando Javelin.

Edit: The MMA doc also does not give any hints on how to disable it.
So in favor for ACE I'd really like to see ACE over Mando. , plus the option for MM to override ACE Javelin by Mando Javelin

Exactly Rocko same oppinion.

I heard of one of my unit members that there is some way to do it and switch off Mando Jav as well as keep ACE SACLOS.

I will post once i talked to him and verified that i was not misinterpreting something

I changed the script a bit to improve the compatibility, needs testing with real life Mando though.

I think I am going to add a Option Setting for the ACE Options, where people can "Force ACE Systems" over every other installed addon.

Would be hard, as you'd have to handle every possible 3rd party mod. Not sure if worth working on.

Well, especially for that Mando Javelin, it seems feasible to have such an option. No idea what else is in Mando, but I personally would like to be able to stick with ACE Javelin instead of the Mando one, in case the mission has his suite bound to the mission or when I am forced to use that addon version when I play with certain people.

One of ways to enforce Mando Javelin down is to override its control variable we are checking for in our fired eh and when Javelin is being selected. But since I have no idea how Mando's package works, I don't know when to override it.

With the two latest hotfixes for ACE, the Javelin stopped working when running ACE + Mando. Mando has not been updated but ACE has.

ok I did some new tests and now you have to do this to get the jav to fire with Mando + ACE:
1) select the target mode (TOP, direct what ever),
2) press TAB to lock
3) Wait for lock
4) zoom in
5) turn on TI
6) now you can fire!

I've prepped the ACE Options dialog with an option to "Force ACE systems" (over MMA [yet to be included other systems ((pending))] ).
So it would be nice to know how to override MMA Javelin for a first start, so the systems do not fight each other.
